Through its success in previous years, the Castaway Art Competition is branching out into more events across Central Queensland. The competition is well regarded for its strong focus on sustainability and incorporation of the “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” theme. As the competition spreads into more rural communities, CQLGA is offering over $3000 worth of cash and paint prizes up for grabs!
This year the competition has sections for primary school, high school and an open section for 18 years and over. Entrants have the option to enter in either 3D sculpture or other artwork sections. Artists are required to create their masterpieces using materials destined for disposal.
All entriesare judged according to their artistic merit and representation of the theme. Prizes are awarded to the top three submissions in each category. The prizes up for grabs include high-quality artist paints from Derivan, cash prizes and artist profile articles published in Artist Palette magazine.
