Officially opened on 10 November 2010, the facility receives recyclables from right across Central Queensland, in particular from the communities in the Rockhampton, Gladstone, Isaac and Central Highlands Regional Council areas. Before we had our Materials Recovery Facility in Rockhampton, all the recycling from Central Queensland was being transported to Brisbane.

CQ MRF plays a vital role in minimising our environmental footprint, as it ensures that recyclable materials are not sent to landfill but are processed to be made into new products to be used again. Below is a gallery of the CQ MRF Opening in 2010.
