Castaway Art

This year students will get the opportunity to turn trash into treasure as the EarthSmart Schools Castaway Art competition branches out into various shows and events in CQ.

The Castaway Art competition is focused around turning items destined for disposal into works of art. There will be sections for both primary and high school students across two creative classes: sculpture and other artwork. We encourage all our EarthSmart Schools to support students in participating in this fun competition.

Look out for Castaway Art in the arts and crafts schedules at a show/event near you (in order of date):

• Callide Valley Show  18-19 May, Banana Shire Council
• Clermont Show   29-30 May, Isaac Regional Council
• Ecofest   3 June, Gladstone Regional Council
• Emerald Show   5-6 June, Central Highlands Regional Council
• Rockhampton Show   8-10 June, Rockhampton Regional Council
